This is my final finished front page. I decided to use the rule of three because it is a simple not to dramatic or boring layout and also it help to seperate the different articles that would appear within the magazine. I tried to keep the same coulour and font layout but decided to keep the font the same (and the title the same as the front page) but changed some colours. i have used a text box for the page numbers so it makes it easier to find the right stuff they want to read. The page is unbelievably simple but thats a good thing so that the reader doesn't have to waste time on what they want to find. the middle column is for just pictures and random text, not to sure on the idea now as it may be a waste of space and would perhaps be easier to have more text as that is more magazine like.

Final Front Page.

This is my final finished magazine front cover. I chose the title "student voice" because the magazine is for students and created by students. Although the colouring is very feminine I think it will attract both male and female readers, because the male readers can relate to the male figure on the front cover. I chose to keep the machines in the background as it is work related to him. I kept the articles all on one side of the page to make them look less scattered as they looked untidy and hard to read. I kept the same font and colouring throughout the text (except the title) because when I did use loads of different text colours and text box colours it was to in-presentable and was hard to get right colours to read the text. So I just decided to stick to a clear simple layout. I chose to put comedy type articles on the front page to set up and idea that the mag will not be bleak and will be for the target audience of students, I feel this was a very important thing to do as the layout of the cover seems quite formal (even though the colours may not be) as it is very structured layout.

Contents Page.

This is my contents page. I have chosen a rule of three layout I think it makes it easier to distinguish the three things; first column for main serious articles, second column for pictures in association with the text and third column has the less serious articles such as challenges and sent in stuff from readers. I have chosen for the mast head to go across two columns just so its the same pattern taken from my front page. Also I want to keep the gutters the same on each page. Again I have chosen to use the friendly symbols on the page: smiley face and stars. I have used the same shaped layout for the pictures as the text boxes on the front page.

Front Cover.

This is my front cover. The have chose a slightly disorganised look, the text boxes are at an angle I think this looks better than everything being orderly. The mast head is not stretched across the whole of the page because I didn't want to take away the attraction of the vending machine man, as he is my main icon. I will probably keep to the black and white design for the mast head, but need to think about what everything else is going to be. I have used a strap line but not near the masthead or logo. Also the articles that i produced on the front of the cover have to be "hard hitting" I used the same shape and size to keep the importance the same. I have included some friendly symbols to advert the the product to the younger audience, as it is for students.

Photos

This is the picture that I will be using for my front cover, the reason I have decided to use this image is because he has a very casual look within his clothes and facial expression. Also because he is a member of staff at Lewes it makes it easier to link him to an interesting story line. It's an interesting picture because the vending machines are in the shot and that tie in to his job. The picture id ideal as it is a medium shot and it is from the mid-chest up. I didn't use a high/low angle shot as it would have given out the wrong connotation e.g a low angle shot would have perhaps made him look intimidating. I will obviously have to do some editing because of the amount of wall in the shot.
